Profile of The Ministers PDF  | Print |  E-mail

By the grace and gift of God, as the year, 2007 drew to a close, we bade farewell to our Anglican and Presbyterian Ministers, Venerable J.L. Lamptey and Rev. E. Nii Armah Ashittey both of whom had served the Lord meritoriously in this church for five years.

We begun the New year with two new Ministers joining forces with Rev. Michael A Bossman, whose tenure at the Ridge would end in September 2008. He hands over the Coordinating Minister’s role to Rev. Canon Hansen-Addy, the Anglican Minister who would serve under this mantle for 2 years.

Here is a short profile of each Minister in order for us to acquaint ourselves with them. Please read on.

Rev. Canon Samuel Hansen-Addy, Anglican Minister

At 51 years of age, Rev. Hansen-Addy’s service in the Anglican Diocese spans over a decade. He was ordained into the priesthood in August 1984 and has since served in various parishes including St. Barnabas Anglican church, Osu and St. Francis of Assisi Anglican church, Mamprobi. His last port of call in ministry was at the St. Andrews Anglican Church, Abossey Okai where he served for eleven years.

Rev. Canon Hansen-Addy holds a Master’s degree in Theological Studies and studied at the Trinity Theological Seminary in Accra and Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, Chicago, USA.

An avid reader and singer, Rev. Canon Hansen-Addy has served on various committees in the Anglican Diocese and continues to serve on the Diocesan Standing Committee to date. He has also  served as the Secretary of the Diocesan Sub-Committee for the retirement of Bishop F.W.B. Thompson and the Diocesan Committee for the Consecration and Enthronement of Bishop (Dr.) J.O. Akrofi.

Rev. Hansen-Addy is married to Naomi.

Rev. Kwabena Aboagye, Presbyterian Minister

Rev. Kwabena Aboagye has recently joined the Accra Ridge church as the Presbyterian Minister. He initially started off his career in Agriculture and responded to the call and was ordained into the priesthood in June 1987 after being commissioned into the ministry in 1985.

Rev. Aboagye has a wide and varied educational background which includes a degree in Law and History from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, a Diploma in Theology from the University of Ghana cum Trinity Theological Seminary and a Masters degree in Conflict Management and Transformation from the University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

He also served as a Technical Officer of the Ministry of Agricullture but has since been a full time Minister serving in various capacities mostly in the Ashanti and Upper West regions respectively.
