Vision: "Reaching Out; In And Out Of The Church; Winning Souls Bringing Them In That They Might Be Fed." In the past ten years, we have seen the Fellowship grow from strength to strength through spiritually-enriching programmes and activities. With all the needed structures firmly grounded, the Fellowship became ready for the mission field. The Fellowship has since grown up with a varied membership made up of married couples, some of whom are parents or expecting babies, workers and students. The activities of the Fellowship had to be varied to cater for the diverse needs of its membership as it stands. We cannot talk about the Fellowship without looking at the many lives it has influenced. In the past decade, we have seen the impact of the transforming power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Through the many sound Christian teachings we have had, encouragements, we received, and mentoring from some quarters, the lives of many have been developed spiritually in our ministries and chosen careers. We have become more responsible in being one another's keeper and we have seen a buoyant team spring up with creative writing and speaking skills geared towards our goal of Evangelisation. For example, the first Teen Camp was held in 2002 and was a resounding success. It began the threshold of our influence on the youth and teens significantly. Right from there, a group of teens took up the challenge and designed and developed the first edition of "Ridge Youth Alive” (RYA), our quarterly magazine which has since become a much sort after, must-read Christian Magazine in church. Co-incidentally, RYA will be four years of being in publication, and this we see as a great achievement for the editor which got it started in the first place. Despite the many activities we have been involved in, Evangelism still remains mainstay. In 1998, the Fellowship single-handedly organized a rural evangelising program at Swedru with the support of the YPG (Young Peoples Guild) of the local Bethel Presbyterian Church. Through the Evangelism exercise, a church in Abosso, a suburb of Sweduru was planted and is thriving. Thereafter, in 2000, we joined the Evangelism Committee of the Church to evangelize in Tudu. Through the Tudu Ministry, we facilitate the Sunday school services at Tudu and also actively participated in the adult services. We were the main facilitators of the recently-held Evangelism and Medical Outreach Mission held in Amasaman as part of the Church's 70th Anniversary celebrations in August 2006. In August 2005, we held a Youth Fellowship reunion of all past and current members of the Fellowship. The theme was how to integrate the Youth into the church. We had recognized that integration had been slow and tedious, because the type of ministry we were more inclined towards was not available at the services. For example, with the inception of praise and worship in the 10.00 a.m. adult service, church evangelism programmes, all nights and Friday Prayer Meetings, our integration has been enhanced because of our natural affinity for these areas of ministry. We will continue to pursue this cause until we can fully participate in all church activities. Throughout these years, we have seen evidence of God's guidance, care, inspiration and love through difficulties, challenges and times of blessings. We are encouraged that God continues to count us worthy to serve Him in all the opportunities He has opened for us. We do not owe it to ourselves; we owe it all to the Lord. We thank God for a fruitful and successful decade and look forward to marching onward in the strength of the Lord to greater glory. |
