Prayer Meetings PDF  | Print |  E-mail
A Wednesday mid-week service is held at the Ridge from 5.30pm to 6.30 pm and may take the form of a prayer service, service of hymns, anointing or a healing service. It sometimes is a testimony night during which selected members share their testimonies to encourage the congregation and to glorify God.

An Anglican mass is held fortnightly on Thursday at Manet.

The prayer vigil held on the third Friday of the month saw many innovations during this period, all in an effort to attract members to attend. Sometimes, it was held from 10.00 p.m. (Fridays) to 5.00 a.m. (Saturdays). Sometimes, it came on from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight dubbed, "Tarry Nights.” Attendance continued to be poor. However, a dedicated band of about 5-10 members kept the programme running.

Some of the Fellowships/Groups also set aside specific meeting days for Prayer. There were retreats and prayer chains for the entire membership and these were usually held on Saturdays. A Prayer month was observed as part of the 70th Anniversary Celebrations. It consisted of private and corporate prayer times, a Bible-reading marathon, prayer seminars, film shows on prayer, testimonies on answers to prayer and a lot more.

Daily Thought

Nature's charms that thrill the sense are all subdued in autumn now; The radiance of the light appears through veils of darkening mist. I gaze into the widths of space and see there autumn's winter-sleep. The summer has surrendered itself to me.

Rudolph Steiner
