Introduction and Our Activities: With the help of Dr. Michael McCarthy then the President of the Ridge Youth Fellowship of the Manet Chapel of the Accra Ridge Church began with (3) three members- Mabel, Fiifi and Wola- three years ago. At the nursery stages of the Fellowship, its leadership was appointed and not elected. In its third year, it had its first election, supported by the Youth Fellowship of the Ridge after a series of prayers. The election was also aided by Mrs. Doris Ankamah- Asamoah whose name resounds in every single sentence in our history. Our own Reverend Ashitey officially inaugurated the Youth Fellowship on the 25th of December 2005. The Manet Youth Fellowship has been greatly influenced by Teen and Youth Camps and the favours from generous members of the Accra Ridge Church and in some cases members of the wider Church of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Since its formation, the Fellowship has been very active in church activities. Drama, Music and Choreography are some of the activities with which the youth have entertained, encouraged and ministered unto the church. The last performances were two sterling ones at the Good Friday and Easter Sunday Services at Manet. The Ridge Youth Fellowship has never left the Manet Fellowship out of its great performances. For instance as part of the 70th Anniversary programme, on first April dubbed A Night Of Drama N Dance, a Manet Youth Fellowship put together a night which will forever be in the minds of all who are present. Other notable performances were on the past two (2) Christmas as well as some family nights although the Youth occasionally put up performances at normal Sunday Service. It must be noted that some of these performances are done at sometimes very short notice. The glory goes to our Father in Heaven. The Youth have also planned quite a number of programmes to enable members to get to know each other better. The current activity in memory is this years Pizza party and our mid- year Ice Cream Party which were all attended and enjoyed. The Fellowship has been key in the organizational activity of the Church, positively channeling their youthful exuberance into the work of the body of Christ. The recent event was the picnic organized at the Ocean Waves Hotel.
We appreciate the generosity that is always extended to us. Members of the Church freely give us their fuelled vehicles when need be. We are very grateful for the recent completion of the Sunday School Complex. In addition we are grateful to Mr. Fred Nortey of the Accra Ridge Church for donating two beautifully made lecterns and an organ to the Youth Service. The Youth Service has also gone a long way to increase the numbers at the Youth Fellowship meetings.
As a fellowship, we have come a long way. The road has not been all rosy; there have been difficult moments; In some cases the dwindling numbers of the fellowship has been somewhat discouraging. Some members leave us when we feel we need them most, but we know we are growing.
