The Couples’ Fellowship was started in 1987 under the leadership of Mr. Dave Hall, an American missionary who was then a member of the church Council. This followed after an AGM decision that couples wanting to get married should be counseled at least for 12 weeks. At its inception, five married couples were trained and certified. They were later joined by two other couples, all members of the Ridge Church. The Fellowship prepares couples for Christian marriage and encourages betrothed couples to nurture, build and maintain Christian homes. In a world that is fast losing confidence in marriage, every Christian couple is expected to use their marriage as a tool to witness. Membership of the Fellowship is open to all couples in the church. Averagely thirty (30) couples attend the monthly meetings, though regular attendees number between ten to twelve couples. The Fellowship meets once every second Saturday of the month at 7.30pm at the Ridge Church and every fourth Saturday at 7.00 pm at the Manet Chapel. Various topics bordering on marriage, our Christian walk and life in general are discussed. Our Ministers and visiting personalities have served as resource persons. A typical Fellowship meeting involves the delivery of a talk by a speaker followed by a lively discussion. A few times a year, the two groups (Ridge and Manet) meet together. Weekend marriage enrichment retreats are held outside Accra twice a year. The leaders of the Fellowship in the past have been Mr. Dave Hall and Mr. Fazie Baksmaty. Presently, the leader is Mr. Isaac Ashong. |
