1. Introduction Accra Ridge Church Women's Fellowship is a Christian, non-profit-making group, open to women of all ages of the Accra Ridge Church. It is one of the oldest groups in the church, which was started at the end of 1953, metamorphosed through the 'Ladies Group' in 1969, and finally changed over to the name, Women's Fellowship, in 1980. Our objectives are to: • Promote sisterly love and Christian fellowship among members; • Help members to know His word more; • See to the welfare of the Accra Ridge Church and its members; • Help care for the needy in society. We recite our pledge at meetings to remind and help us commit ourselves to the objec¬tives.
2. Membership and Attendance at Meetings Our membership stands at 200, and average attendance at meetings is 60. Six members have gone to glory over the period. We meet on the second Monday of the month for Bible studies, prayer meetings, demonstrations and talks on issues that benefit us, e.g., Flower Arrangements, Diet and Health, Graceful Ageing, etc. The last Wednesdays of the month are our general meetings when issues affecting the Fellowship and our services to the church and society are planned and executed. There are three committees that are in charge of prayer programmes, welfare of members and fund-raising activities. 3. Activities Our activities over the ten years have been geared towards the fulfillment of our objec¬tives. This includes:- i. Church's Adopted Ward We made monthly visits to the Church's adopted ward, the male convalescent ward of the Psychiatric Hospital, where we fellowship and share a word from the Bible, sing hymns and choruses and dine together with the patients. At Christmas, we have a party for them and present them with needed items. Donations made during this ten-year period, under the auspices of the church, includes: a television set, a refrigerator, a water tank, tables & benches, plates, saucepans, beddings and curtains. The ward was also painted. «. The Church's Agape Supper This yearly Love Feast, organized by the Fellowship, has progressed from the supper lovingly cooked by the Area Group members of the Fellowship, to a real formal dinner under decorated canopies with live band and professionally-prepared dishes. The Agape Supper unifies all church members, who eat and dance together in a relaxed atmosphere, thus break¬ing the barriers of age, status, sex or polii ical and denominational affiliations.
